At Kent St Weir Canning - dead trees are trimmed and left standing to preserve nesting hollows.
From 2019 I am living a more relaxed life. After 35 years I am retired from engineering practice.
You can expect me to mention retirement projects, travel and of course the beloved.
My hobbies may include nature, camping, repair, and reading.

Seriously big nest boxes
Large birds like large hollows for nests. This nest box is attempting to imitate a hollow tree probably for cockatoos. At Kent Street Weir in Canning, Perth.

bushfire.io
An excellent app to read the bushfire situation.
Today a large bushfire east of Perth dimmed the sun. Looking at bushfire.io it seems that highway 40 might be closed.

Kite repair
At Busselton beach. The kite was missing a spar and the central joint was broken. From my caravan repair kit I took bamboo skewers, glue and zip ties to make repairs.
It worked and the kite fly over the Indian Ocean but it suffered a crash and the substitute central joint broke again.
Time for a new kite.
